About me

Welcome to my world of storytelling and weirdness!

Greetings! I'm Sébastien Gagnaire, known affectionately as Chat poteley, a moniker inspired by my love for tales and my knack for spinning them into art. As a seasoned story artist and writer, I craft narratives that captivate and inspire spectators.

My journey began in the picturesque landscapes of France, where I developed an early fascination with the magic of cinema. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and audiovisual studies, I delved deep into the intricacies of filmmaking, mastering the art of framing stories and bringing them to life on the silver screen.

My passion for animation ignited during my involvement in a stop-motion project for Arte in 2015, titled [Apologies to the Earth]. This venture earned me recognition with a nomination for Best Screenplay and Technical Achievement at a prestigious festival in France for my subsequent work, [42].

Beyond my artistic endeavors, I share my knowledge and expertise as a storyboard and screenwriting instructor at the School of Condé, where i teach to younger peoples how to turn their ideas toward a screen. Additionally, I serve as a mentor in visual narrative at Les Gobelins, nurturing budding storytellers to weave their own tales of wonder.

While my journey has taken me through live-action productions like [Fantasmagoria] and [Fall of Time], it was my immersion in the enchanting world of animation that truly sparked my creativity. From the adrenaline-fueled adventures of [WarDogs] to the whimsical charm of [The Children], I've lent my storytelling prowess to a diverse array of animated projects, crafting storyboards that breathe life into every frame.

Join me as we embark on a journey through the realms of imagination, where every stroke of the pen and every scene crafted is a testament to the power of storytelling. Welcome aboard!
